Destin’s Snowbirds

You may have heard of our beloved “Snowbirds” that flock to Destin every winter.

Wikipedia defines a Snowbird as “someone from the US Midwest, Pacific Northwest, or Canada who spends a large portion of winter in warmer locales such as California, Arizona,  Florida, Texas or elsewhere along the Sun Belt of the southern and southwest United States, Mexico, and areas of the Caribbean.”

They are seeking warmer temperatures and an escape from the icy cold conditions of their homeland.

Maybe you know nothing about our northern guests, but here is a little miscellaneous information about them.

  1. Snowbirds like to have fun.
  2. They are usually here for at least a couple of months.
  3. Quiet time and relaxation are a priority.
  4. Quality food, lodging and entertainment is always an enjoyment.
  5. They are equipped to pay top dollar for quality food, lodging and entertainment.

We could go on and on about their characteristics. We value them and they are a huge contribution to our community! Sea Oats Motel extends the warmest welcome to our migrating friends!

We are happy to see all of them out walking the beaches, jogging, playing Golf and enjoying our home.  We know you have a choice in where you spend your vacation and home away from home.

The Sea Oats Motel welcomes our “Snowbirds” and wishes you a warm and happy New Year.
