Fall Happenings Around Destin
Fall is our absolute favorite time of year here at the Sea Oats Motel
The original beachfront escape on the Emerald Coast featuring unmatched comfort, convenience and serenity.Located away from all the hustle and bustle of the main thoroughfare, yet still only moments away from all the amazing action that Destin, Florida is so famous for.
Well, that and our spectacular, white sand beaches and sparkling green surf of course.
With the cooler months of autumn ushering in clear, gorgeous weather, it makes being out in our coastal paradise that much more amazing! Perhaps thats why this time of year is often known as Festival Season, because of all the great outdoor gatherings that take place.
This year, for families visiting the beautiful beaches of Destin and the surrounding areas during the month of October, are in for a special Treat, without any Trick as the City of Fort Walton Beach Heritage Park & Cultural Center present the 7th Annual Haunted History Tours based on authentic local history, folk stories and spooky downtown historic sites.
The program offers a guided twilight walking tour of historic sites in the downtown area and features costumed actors interpreting local history and haunted happenings. All tour participants should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to start time for each tour at the Indian Temple Mound Museum. Tours end with spooky refreshments inside the Camp Walton Schoolhouse Museum.
The tours will be held on Friday, October 24th and Saturday, October 25th. Three tours will be conducted each night at 6:30 PM, 7:00 PM, and 7:30 PM. Tours are limited to 30 people each and early sign-up and ticket purchase is encouraged.
Pre-sale tickets are available during regular museum hours at the Indian Temple Mound Museum at a cost of $10.00 per adult and $7.00 per child (children must be accompanied by an adult) starting on October 6.
