September 26 is Kids King Mackerel Fishing Day
Kids experience the excitement of this fishing day just for them! 50 boats are at their disposal to catch the big ones and bring them back to the big fish fry at the end of the day. Mackerel is a delicious tasting fish that can be prepared in many ways in addition to frying. Smoked Mackerel is very tasty. Mackerel is also part of the Asian food culture often served barbecued.
The Destin Fishing Rodeo is also coming up in October as well as The Destin Seafood Festival. Both of these events are filled with fun and excitement as the fishing tournaments bring out the best in proud fishermen, women and children also.
