The magnificent white sand beaches of the Emerald Coast are being invaded by Zombies!

Ok, maybe we got a little excited, but here at the charming Sea Oats Motel, we tend to get that way this time of year. Not only is there plenty to celebrate but this time of year is also when all of our amazing outdoor events go down!

For our guests who will be joining us towards the middle of the month, be sure to grab a bag full of non perishable food items, and don your finest Zombie couture, to take part in the fun and feel good 6th Annual Fort Walton Beach Zombie Walk/Canned Food Drive!

This year, the 6th Annual FWB Zombie Walk Can Food Drive will kick off on Saturday, October 18, 2014 presented by the City of Fort Walton Beach & Downtown FWB Organization.

All “undead” are invited to join and Zombie registration begins at 4pm at The Fort Walton Beach Landing, so don’t be late, and don’t forget to bring at least 4 can goods to donate to Sharing and Caring.

Not sure how to recreate that awesome Zombie look from tv? Well your family is in luck as professional makeup artists, some of whom have worked for the epic and highly popular Walking Dead series on AMC, will be on hand to zombify for a small donation.

There will also be a ton of activities the whole family will enjoy, including games, prizes & live music. Dogs welcome to join in the fun, and you are encouraged to include them in the costuming.

The Zombie Walk will conclude with a meandering of Zombies through Downtown to their final destination at the Fort Walton Beach Landing for Thriller Dancing and revelry!

Here’s what your family can expect:

• 4-6pm ZOMBIE REGISTRATION. Zombies must bring 4 cans of food to The FWB Landing or registration table in front of Burrito Del Sol. FOR A CHANCE TO WIN PRIZES, YOU MUST BE REGISTERED BY 5:30. Zombies will receive 1 of 2 maps. One map will lead the families with small children to the locations with Trick or Treating and games (when they play the game, they will get their card stamped). This map will also send them to Fountain Square for the Zombie Walk at 6:30. The other map will lead individuals ages 13 & up to locations to get their card stamped. This map will send them to the area behind Burrito Del Sol for the Zombie Walk at 6:30.
• BRAIN EATING CONTEST and other games with prizes
• 6:30pm ZOMBIE WALK Zombies need to be at the locations on their map. Either Fountain Square by Fokker’s Pub or the grassy area behind Burrito Del Sol. Zombies will be led down Hwy 98 to end at The Landing.
• 7pm THRILLER DANCE at The Landing
